Earnings Season Q3 2010
Earnings Season Q3 2010 kicks off Thursday 10/7 with AA reporting.
CNBC will be busier than usual, given the political race.
Stocks look more attractive than bonds, yet there is hesitancy. The government report on the 'flash crash',
released last week, didn't exactly generate confidence in the markets. Individual traders haven't been back
since the crash. The market is dominated by 'high frequency' traders. Yet the VIX is low indicating complancy.
Will investors take profits now, rather than next year, to pay lower capital gains taxes?
CNBC's Options Action is highly popular. The more people learn about Options, the more they like them.
Knowledge is merely potential. Applied knowledge is power.
Countdown till November 2nd elections: 29 days.
W. D. Gann, a keen market observer, although not an astronomer, nevertheless, was fascinated by the apparent
coincidence of important market 'pivot points' and astronomical dates. Theories exist for estimating time and
price of important market turning points but astronomical occurrences are computed with mathematical certainty.
There is no logical reason why these occurrences should coincide yet, empirically, they have.
The 'Full Moon' and 'New Moon', among others, have been cited. Therefore, one might be well advised to be aware
of their occurrence. Note: The first 5 business days of 2008 concluded on a 'New Moon' and we all know how that
worked out. Coincidence?
10/7 Thursday - New Moon.
10/22 Friday - Full Moon.
