The 60th Vote!

The 60th vote! Senate arm twisting! Another magnificent demonstration of 'Chicago-style' politics in action! The American voter be damned! Can hardly wait to see what they have in mind for us Christmas Eve.

The voters will be heard Nov 2nd, 2010 and, based on what happened in VA & NJ, it won't be pretty for the Democrats (nor any 'progressive' Republicans either). It will be a slaughter!

CNBC guest analysts, sounding desperate, were focusing on consumer last minute Christmas shopping. At least one prominent technical analyst put out a 'short sale' recommendation on Apple (AAPL).

Volatility indexes are at relatively low valuations (typical of market tops).

ProShares Short S&P500 ETF (SH) is coming out of its steep decline. If the market tanks, this will take off like a rocket.

Heads Up

W. D. Gann, a keen market observer, although not an astronomer, nevertheless, was fascinated by the apparent coincidence of important market 'pivot points' and astronomical dates. Theories exist for estimating time and price of important market turning points but astronomical occurrences are computed with mathematical certainty.

There is no logical reason why these occurrences should coincide yet, empirically, they have. The 'Full Moon' and 'New Moon', among others, have been cited. Therefore, one might be well advised to be aware of their occurrence. Note: The first 5 business days of 2008 concluded on a 'New Moon' and we all know how that worked out. Coincidence?
