GOP or DEM?Dow score card for the week ending 11/3/06. DJ-30: 11986.04 -104.22 -0.86%. In the Real World: 49.91 -0.44 -0.87%. UP: 8 (-11), Down: 22 (+12), 0 n/c (-1). Trends (weekly): This is the subjective part. Rising 15 (-4): DIS, GM, HON, HPQ, +*IBM, INTC, JNJ, JPM, KO, MCD, MO, +*MSFT, T, VZ, XOM. Consolidating 11 (+4): -*AIG, AXP, C, -*DD, GE, -*MMM, -*MRK, PFE, -*PG, UTX, -*WMT. Declining 4 (n/c): AA, BA, CAT, HD. * denotes change of category. +/- denotes change of direction.
With two trading days left till the mid-term elections, it is entirely understandable that analysis of the individual components of the Dow indicates a definite increase in consolidation within the average. Good economic reports and the Sadam death sentence news from Iraq notwithstanding, we all know what's at stake this Tuesday. America will decide who controls the House and Senate. That being said, regardless of the outcome, those with capital to invest must continuously endeavor to commit to the most attractive issues.
In that regard, until their charts indicate otherwise, I continue to look favorably upon
AA, HD, and INTC for purchase.
